Turkey’s industrial production up 2.9% in Q2

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's season and calendar adjusted monthly industrial production index with the base year 2010=100 increased by 1.4 percent compared to the previous month, while the calendar adjusted index was up 4.2 percent year on year.

In the second quarter of the current year, the seasonally and calendar adjusted industrial production increased by 1.2 percent compared with the previous quarter, while calendar adjusted industrial production increased by 2.9 percent compared with the same quarter of last year.

In June, the calender adjusted production index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey rose 9.3 percent year on year and the season and calendar adjusted index was up seven percent from the previous month, following three consecutive months of month-on-month decrease. Meanwhile, the output index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products in June fell by 1.4 percent year on year and was down by 8.8 percent compared to the previous month, following the 0.7 percent month-on-month increase recorded in May.
