Turkey's steel exports decreased by 4.12 percent year on year to 14.68 million mt, while the value of these exports totaled $11.16 billion, down 2.96 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Exporters' Association (CIB). Meanwhile, in October alone,
Turkey's steel exports decreased by 0.1 percent year on year to 1.41 million mt, while the value of these exports totaled $1.52 billion, up 0.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the January-October period of this year,
Turkey's main steel export destination was the Middle East, which received 5.1 million mt. The Middle East was followed by the EU countries, North America and North Africa, which imported 2.5 million mt (up 6.9 percent year on year), 2 million mt and 1.6 million mt of Turkish steel products respectively. During the given period,
Turkey's main steel export destinations on country basis were the
US,
Iraq and the
UAE, which received 1.64 million mt, 1.39 million mt and 1.21 million mt, respectively.
On the other hand, in the first ten months this year
Turkey's main exported steel product was rebar with total rebar exports amounting to 6.38 million mt. Rebar was followed by steel pipe exports totaling 1.59 million mt, steel profile exports totaling 1.5 million mt and hot rolled flat steel exports amounting to 1.44 million mt.
