In April this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 706,259 metric tons, decreasing by 2.75 percent year on year and up 6.06 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $396.48 million, decreasing by 7.82 percent compared to April 2013 and up 5.95 percent from the previous month.
On the other hand, in the first four months of this year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 2.68 million metric tons, down 1.89 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $1.52 billion, decreasing by 6.20 percent year on year.
In April this year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the UAE with exports amounting to 158,264 metric tons, up 30.41 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by Iraq with 83,977 metric tons and Israel with 77,227 metric tons. Meanwhile, in the first four months of the current year Iraq ranked first among Turkey's rebar export destinations, receiving 373.132 metric tons, down 18.47 percent year on year. Iraq was followed by the UAE which received 368,050 metric tons of rebar from Turkey, up 8.40 percent year on year.
