Turkey's rebar exports down 5.35 percent in Jan-Sept

In September this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 612,139 metric tons, decreasing by 2.27 percent year on year, but up 8.62 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $345.69 million, decreasing by five percent compared to September 2013 and up 10.52 percent from the previous month.

On the other hand, in the January-September period of this year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 5.64 million metric tons, down 5.35 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $3.18 billion, decreasing by 8.89 percent year on year.

In September this year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 119,215 metric tons, up 181.41 percent year on year. The US was followed by Egypt with 80,966 metric tons, compared to 6,297 metric tons in the same month last year, and the UAE with 76,150 metric tons, down 38.63 percent year on year. In the first nine months, the UAE ranked as Turkey's leading rebar export destination, receiving 889,202 metric tons, up 2.29 percent year on year. In the given period, Iraq received 614,080 metric tons of rebar from Turkey, down 44.13 percent year on year.
