Taiwan's iron and steel export value down 3.6 percent in Apr from Mar

In April this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports increased by 8.4 percent year on year and decreased by 3.6 percent compared to March to $1.57 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the same month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $1.03 billion, up 2.2 percent year on year and increasing by 1.3 percent month on month.
 
In the first four months of this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports was up 4.4 percent to $6.03 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $3.70 billion, down 9.5 percent, both on year-on year basis.
