According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Finance, in July this year Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel amounted to $1.55 billion, decreasing by 11.7 percent compared to the same month of 2011 and down 3.3 percent month on month.
In the first seven months of this year, Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel decreased by five percent from the same period last year, amounting to $10.7 billion. Meanwhile, in the first seven months of 2012 Taiwan's import value for the products in question decreased by 13 percent compared to the same period of last year to $7.5 billion.
