According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Finance, in September this year Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel amounted to $1.5 billion, decreasing by 3.9 percent compared to the same month of 2011 and up 11.2 percent month on month.
In the first nine months of this year, Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel decreased by 6.8 percent from the same period last year, amounting to $13.6 billion.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of 2012 Taiwan's import value for the products in question decreased by 14 percent compared to the same period of last year to $9.5 billion. In September alone, the country's import value for iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel decreased by 9.7 percent year on year to $1 million.
