French new industrial orders rise slightly in April

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in April this year France's new industrial orders received, excepting heavy tranport vehicles, slightly increased by 0.3 percent month on month. In March, a revised month-on-month increase of 2.5 percent was registered.
 
However, in the month in question, export orders regressed as compared to the previous month, at a rate of 1.4 percent.
 
Meanwhile, in the given month, industrial orders in the domestic metallurgical industry rose 5.1 percent as compared to the previous month, while industrial orders in the manufacture of metal products except machinery slightly improved by 0.1 percent month on month.
 
In April, industrial orders in France's automotive industry dropped by 3.4 percent as compared to the previous month, after a slight decrease of 0.3 percent recorded in March.
