French metal industry orders down 6% in July from June

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in July this year France's new industrial orders received, excepting heavy tranport vehicles, decreased 1.1 percent month on month. In June, new industrial orders were down one percent compared to May. On the other hand, in July export orders increased slightly by 0.3 percent as compared to the previous month.

In July, the new orders index for the French domestic metallurgical industry decreased by six percent as compared to the previous month, while the new orders index for the manufacture of metal products except machinery increased by one percent as compared to June. Meanwhile, France's new orders index for the automobile sector fell by 2.9 percent in July this year as compared to the previous month.
