French new industrial orders down 1.2 percent in May over April

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in May this year France's new industrial orders received, excepting heavy tranport vehicles, declined by 1.2 percent month on month. In April, a revised month-on-month increase of 0.7 percent was registered.
Meanwhile, in the month in question, export orders regressed as compared to the previous month, also at a rate of 1.2 percent.
In May, industrial orders in the domestic metallurgical industry fell by 3.8 percent as compared to the previous month, while industrial orders in the manufacture of metal products except machinery increased 2.2 percent as compared to April.
In May, industrial orders in France's automotive industry dropped by 1.5 percent as compared to the previous month, after a decrease of 3.8 percent recorded in April
