China’s construction machinery sector sees 20.3% fall in profit in Jan-July

In the January-July period of this year, the aggregate operating revenue of large and medium-sized construction machinery enterprises in China totaled RMB 217.39 billion ($34.3 billion), down 0.47 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA).

In the given period, the enterprises in question achieved a total gross profit of RMB 17.39 billion ($2.74 billion), indicating a year-on-year decline of 20.3 percent. Meanwhile, in January-July the overall finished product inventory of the enterprises increased by 7.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.

In the first seven months of this year, China's construction machinery imports amounted to a value of RMB 3.8 billion ($599 million), down 36 percent year on year, while its construction machinery exports totaled RMB 10.96 billion ($1.73 billion), up 33 percent year on year.
