China to spend further RMB 66 billion on public rental housing

According to China's Ministry of Finance (MOF), the Chinese government is to allocate a further RMB 66 billion ($10.40 billion) for the construction of public rental housing. A total of 2.3 million housing units is planned to be built with this money.

On May 18, the Chinese government had already announced the allocation of RMB 31.7 billion ($5 billion) for the construction of public rental housing. Together the two announcements entail a total allocation of close to RMB 100 billion for construction of public rental housing in China.
