China’s railway construction investments to hit RMB 496 billion in 2012

China’s Ministry of Railways has stated that in the current year investment in railway construction in China is expected to reach RMB 496 billion ($78.36 billion), increasing by RMB 90 billion ($14.22 billion) compared to the RMB 406 billion ($64.14 billion) budgeted at the beginning of this year.
 
As reported by SteelOrbis, the Ministry of Railways lately announced that investment in construction of railways in China in the January-August period of the current year totaled RMB 227.77 billion ($35.94 billion), decreasing by RMB 88.70 billion ($13.68 billion) year on year.
 
Accordingly, the major part of China’s railway construction investment for the current year is expected to be implemented in the remaining part of the year and so a boom in railway construction activity may be witnessed in China up to the end of the year.
