Despite the low buying activity in the Romanian seamless pipe market, local producers have increased their quotations amid higher production costs and the weakening of the euro. Domestic prices for Romanian seamless pipes have increased by a maximum of €10/mt (down $28/mt) over the past month, while export offers have increased by around €10-20/mt (down $19-29/mt), with healthier buying activity seen from foreign buyers. Market participants do not think that seamless pipe demand will improve in the coming period in the domestic market, while they hope that interest from foreign customers will improve gradually.

Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €880-900/mt ($1,115-1,140/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.

Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €910-940/mt ($1,153-1,190/mt) FCA, while 12"-14" pipes are at levels of €935-990/mt ($1,184-1,254/mt) FCA.

Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €900-910/mt ($1,140-1,153/mt) CPT.
