The traditional seasonal uptick in demand has not appeared yet in the Romanian seamless pipe market. Over the past month, domestic prices of seamless pipes in Romania have remained unchanged amid sluggish business activity, while export offers have fallen by a maximum of €20/mt ($27/mt). Romanian pipe producers hope to keep their prices stable in the coming period, while both local and foreign buyers continue to insist on further price reductions as there are no positive developments in the market.

Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €880-920/mt ($1,209-1,264/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.

Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €900-940/mt ($1,237-1,292/mt) FCA, 16" pipes are at levels of €980-1,060/mt ($1,347-1,457/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,300-1,390/mt ($1,787-1,910/mt) FCA, all for April production.

Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €930-950/mt ($1,278-1,306/mt) CPT.
