Trader sources say that while they’re still receiving offers for US import hot dipped galvanized (HDG) from China, they’re becoming increasingly wary of booking tons. Rumors about a potential trade case seem to be growing louder, according to sources, and despite it being near-impossible to predict the unknown, no one wants to be left dealing with a potential “critical circumstances” situation when and if that case is filed. Ultimately, the rumors have been enough to cause traders to slowly back away from Chinese bookings in order to play it safe. In terms of futures offer prices out of India, those are on par with levels seen just one week ago, with order activity and inquiries trending at neutral.
