On October 31, 2006, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated an antidumping duty administrative review for stainless steel wire rod imported from Sweden. The review covered the period September 1, 2005, through August 31, 2006.
The DOC has preliminarily determined that sales by Swedish producer Fagersta Stainless AB (FSAB) (including its affiliates AB Sandvik Materials Technology, and Kanthal AB) were made below normal value in the US during the period of review. The DOC treated all these companies as a single entity in this review. Accordingly, a preliminary dumping margin of 40.24 percent was set for Fagersta Stainless AB/AB Sandvik Materials Technology/Kanthal AB.
