According to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), in November motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 29,199 units, increasing by 3.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up 32 percent month on month.
In the month in question, the country's passenger car sales amounted to 17,781 units, increasing by 3.4 percent year on year and up 28.59 percent month on month.
In November, Turkey's motor vehicle exports totaled 57,180 units, rising by 22.4 percent year on year, but down 16.35 percent over October. The revenue generated by motor vehicle exports surged by 18.7 percent, compared to November 2008, to $1.35 billion. In November this year, Turkey imported 16,488 motor vehicles, slightly down by just 0.2 percent year on year.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, Turkey's motor vehicle output in November totaled 76,694 units, increasing by 29.8 percent year on year but down by 7.76 percent over the month of October.
In the first eleven months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle sales increased by 0.5 percent to 484,476 units, its motor vehicle exports declined by 35.8 percent to 560,824 units, while motor vehicle imports fell by 4.5 percent to 267,556 units, all compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
