According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in June this year Turkey's steel exports totaled $1.49 billion in value, increasing by 15.03 percent year on year and up 10.7 percent as compared to the previous month.
In June this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sector had the highest export value of the country's industrial sectors with $1.61 billion, decreasing by 9.11 percent compared to June 2011, while steel was the sector with the second highest export value.
On the other hand, in the first six months of this year, Turkey's steel export value came to $8.12 billion, rising by 5.14 percent year on year.
