Tata Steel’s crude steel output up 1.9 percent in FY 2014-15

Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has announced that its crude steel output for the fourth quarter ending March 31 amounted to 2.44 million mt, falling by 1.5 percent year on year. The company's liquid pig iron output in the given period was 2.67 million mt, up by a slight margin of 0.7 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

In the full financial year, the company's crude steel output increased by 1.9 percent to 9.33 million mt, while its liquid pig iron output stood at 10.16 million mt, up 2.66 percent, both year on year.

During the January-March period, Tata Steel's finished steel output decreased by 1.7 percent to 2.44 million mt, while its sales volume remained flat at 2.4 million mt, both compared to the same period of the previous financial year.

In the 2014-ı5 financial year, the company produced 9.07 million mt of finished steel, up 1.6 percent, while its sales volume increased by 2.7 percent to 8.7 million mt, both year on year.
