Tata Steel’s crude steel output up 11.3 percent in December quarter

Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has announced that its crude steel output for the third quarter ending December 31 of the current financial year amounted to 2.55 million mt, rising by 11.3 percent year on year. The company's liquid pig iron output in the given period was 2.69 million mt, up 13.1 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
 
During the December quarter, Tata Steel's finished steel output increased by 13.1 percent to 2.51 million mt, while its sales volume reached 2.35 million mt, rising 10.3 percent, both compared to the same period of the previous financial year.
 
In the first nine months of the current financial year, Tata Steel produced 7.4 million mt of crude steel, up 7.4 percent, while the company’s finished steel output amounted to 7.15 million mt, rising by seven percent, both year on year. During the given period, Tata Steel’s steel sales increased by 7.6 percent year on year to 6.82 million mt.
