According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Finance, Taiwan's iron and steel exports in June amounted to $1.56 billion, increasing by 13.5 percent, while its metal product exports totaled $877.9 million, up 10.1 percent, both compared to June 2010.
Meanwhile, in June Taiwan's iron and steel imports decreased by four percent to $1.11 billion, and its metal product imports came to $1.14 billion, up 5.1 percent, both compared to the same month last year.
On the other hand, for the first half of the year, Taiwan's iron and steel exports reached $9.54 billion, increasing by 20.3 percent, while its metal product exports rose 18.1 percent to $5.47 billion, both compared to the previous year.
In the first half of 2011, Taiwan's iron and steel imports were up 24.4 percent, totaling $6.03 billion, while its metal product imports amounted to $5.80 billion, climbing by 16.8 percent, both compared to the same period of 2010.
