Spain’s industrial price index up 4.1 percent in August

Spain’s industrial price index in August increased by 4.1 percent year-on-year, up 1.5 percentage points compared to the year-on-year rise recorded in the previous month,according to the Spanish national statistics office (INE). The index went up 1.1 percent month-on-month.
 
In particular, the year-on-year increase amounted to 0.7 percent for capital goods, 0.7 percent for intermediate goods, one percent for durable consumer goods, 2.1 percent for non-durable consumer goods and 12.6 percent for energy.
 
During August, the industrial price index in the field of manufacture of basic metals in Spain reached 129.7 points, down 1.1 percent month-on-month and down 5.2 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, the price index of manufacture of fabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) hit 119.9 points, increasing by 0.1 percent month on month and 0.5 percent year on year.
