Spain's industrial price index in May this year increased by 3.2 percent year on year, up 0.2 percentage points compared to the year-on-year rise recorded in the previous month, according to the Spanish national statistics office (INE). The index declined by 0.1 percent on month-on-month basis.
In particular, the year-on-year increase in Spain's industrial price index in May included a rise of 0.7 percent for capital goods, one percent for intermediate goods, 1.2 percent for durable consumer goods, 1.6 percent for non-durable consumer goods and 9.3 percent for energy.
During May, the industrial price index in manufacture of basic metals in Spain in May was at 132.1 points, down 0.4 percent month on month and down 2.8 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the price index in manufacture of fabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) hit 119.8 points, increasing by 0.2 percent month on month and rising by 0.6 percent year on year.
