Severstal's shipbuilding steel approved by Lloyd's Register

The Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that its Cherepovets facility has been awarded new certificates by Lloyd's Register for the production of normal and high strength shipbuilding steels in thicknesses of up to 12 mm, of 40 mm and of 50-70 mm, produced at its sheet rolling shops LPTs-1, LTPs-2, and LPTs-3.

The certificates were granted upon the completion of an audit at the Cherepovets plant and are effective till 2010.
