German crude steel output down 5.1 percent in January-July

In July this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 5.3 percent year on year to 3.217 million metric tons, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the January-July period, crude steel production in Germany declined by 5.1 percent year on year to 23.934 million mt.

Germany's pig iron output in July amounted to 2.167 million mt, down 6.2 percent, while in the first seven months the country's pig iron output decreased by 4.4 percent to 15.5 million mt, both year on year.

The country's hot rolled steel output fell four percent to 2.902 million mt in July, while decreasing by 5.4 percent to 20.815 million mt in the first seven months, both compared to the respective periods of the previous year.
