In August this year, the turnover in France's manufacturing industry increased 1.9 percent compared to the previous month, following a month-on-month increase of 1.4 percent recorded in July, according to France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). Meanwhile, exports of France's manufacturing sector increased by 2.2 percent month on month in August, after the 0.4 percent increase registered in July compared to June.
In August 2012, turnover in the manufacture of coke increased by 3.5 percent, while the turnover in French metal and metal product manufacturing increased by 1.8 percent, both compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, a 4.3 percent month-on-month increase was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. In August, the turnover in the country's automobile industry rose 4.3 percent month-on-month, while the turnover in the French construction industry increased by 1.3 percent compared to the previous month.
