French manufacturing turnover up 0.8% in Feb over Jan

In February this year, the turnover in France's manufacturing industry rose by 0.8 percent month on month, following a month-on-month increase of 1.1 percent in January, according to France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). Meanwhile, exports of France's manufacturing sector rose by 0.6 percent in February as compared to January, after a 3.2 percent month-on-month increase recorded in January.

In February 2012, the turnover of French metal and metal product manufacturing fell by 0.4 percent as compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, a noticeable 15.2 percent month-on-month increase was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. In February, the turnover in the country's automobile industry fell by 1.4 percent, while the construction industry saw a decrease of one percent in turnover, both compared to the previous month.
