French manufacturing turnover down 1.9% in Nov from Oct

In November 2012, the turnover in France's manufacturing industry decreased significantly by 1.9 percent month on month, following a month-on-month rise recorded in October, according to France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). Exports of France's manufacturing sector decreased by 4.5 percent month on month in November, after the three percent increase registered in October compared to September.

In November last year, turnover in French manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products fell by 3.7 percent, while the turnover in French metal and metal product manufacturing decreased by 3.2 percent, both compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, a 1.5 percent month-on-month increase was recorded in the turnover in the automobile industry. However, the turnover in the country's manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers fell 6.3 percent month on month. In November, the turnover in the French construction industry decreased by 1.7 percent compared to the previous month.
