CSC’s sales revenues rise 51 percent in Q3

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in the first three quarters of this year its total steel production came to 7.33 million metric tons, rising by 28.4 percent, its sales volume amounted to 7.43 million metric tons, up 26.8 percent, while its sales revenue stood at NTD 177.5 billion ($5.82 billion), up 52.6 percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2009. The company's profit before tax totaled NTD 38 billion ($1.25 billion) in the given period.
 
Meanwhile, in the third quarter of 2010, CSC increased its steel production by 10.7 percent year on year achieving an output of 2.48 million metric tons. In the July-September period of this year, CSC's sales volume amounted to 2.52 million metric tons, up 14.5 percent year on year, while its sales revenue rose 51.1 percent as compared to Q3 2009, totaling NTD 65 billion ($2.13 billion). In the given period, CSC posted a profit before tax of NTD 10.5 billion ($344.2 million).
