The Romanian seamless pipe market is seeing moderate demand from local and foreign customers. Prices for Romanian seamless pipes have remained stable over the past month amid a lack of buying interest. However, because of currency fluctuations, prices in dollar terms have dropped down in the same period by $24-32/mt. The current month promises to be quiet in terms of demand due to the summer vacation period in Europe. It is expected that prices of seamless pipes in Romania may pick up from September when improvement in activity will likely trigger a wave of stock replenishment in the distribution chain and at end-users.
Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €880-900/mt ($1,170-1,197/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.
Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €900-930/mt ($1,197-1,237/mt) FCA, while 16" pipes are at levels of €970-1,050/mt ($1,290-1,397/mt) FCA.
Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €900-920/mt ($1,197-1,224/mt) CPT.
