The latest prices of billet for rebar production in the local Italian market are currently at around €600/mt ($955/mt) delivered to rolling mill in northern Italy on two to three month open account basis, excluding VAT.
It is observed that there have been price increases in the billet sales concluded in Italy in parallel with the long product price trend in April. However, it still seems unlikely that the rolling mills in Italy will make billet purchases from the CIS or Turkey.
