On December 12, Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) issued its steel sales prices for January shipment. The details are as follows (all comparisons being with December prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRC) and hot rolled sheet (HRS)
The prices of all hot rolled products have increased by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt).
Accordingly, the prices of 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm SPHC grade HRC, 2.75 mm x 1,250 mm Q235 grade HRC and 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm Q235 grade HRC are respectively standing at RMB 3,770/mt ($615/mt), RMB 3,780/mt ($616/mt) and RMB 3,740/mt ($610/mt).
2. Pickled and oiled
The prices of all pickled and oiled products have increased by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt).
3. Cold rolled (CR)
The prices of cold rolled steel with high-quality carbon, deep-drawing and high-strength cold rolled steel have increased by RMB 50/mt ($83/mt), while the prices of all other cold rolled steel products have remained unchanged.
4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG)
The prices of DX53 grade deep-drawing and high-strength HDG products have increased by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt), and the prices of DX51D+Z(JD1) grade HDG products have increased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt), while the prices of all other products have remained unchanged.
5. Color-coated
The prices of TDC53D+Z grade color-coated products have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt), while the prices of all other color-coated products have remained unchanged.
6. Electro-galvanized
The prices of all DQ grade electro-galvanized products have increased by RMB 120/mt ($19/mt), while the prices of all other electro-galvanized products have increased by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt).
7. The prices of rolled plate, tin-coated steel products, non-grain-oriented (NGO) silicon steel and grain-oriented (GO) silicon steel have remained unchanged. As a result, the price of 14-40mm Q235A grade steel plate is currently standing at RMB 3,600/mt ($587/mt), while the price of 14-40mm Q345A grade steel plate is at RMB 3,710/mt ($605/mt).
8. Special steel
a. The prices of cold heading steel and 35-80# high-quality carbon steel have remained unchanged. Accordingly, the prices of 6.5 mm SWRCH22A grade cold heading steel are standing at RMB 3,780/mt ($616/mt).
b. The prices of SWRH72A, SWRH72B, SWRH82A, WSWRH82B and W77MnA grade high carbon steel have remained unchanged.
c. The prices of special steel for tire cord , welding products, cables, alloy springs, and steel wool have remained unchanged
d. Rolled plate
The prices of common carbon rolled plate, low-alloy rolled plate and shipbuilding plate have decreased by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt). Accordingly, the price of 14-40mm Q235A grade steel plate is standing at RMB 3,600/mt ($587/mt).
All prices are ex-works, excluding 17 percent VAT, and are effectively immediately.
