VISA Steel ups annual DRI production capacity to 300,000 mt

Indian steelmaker VISA Steel Ltd has announced the commissioning of the second rotary kiln at its Kalinganagar direct reduction iron (DRI) plant in Orissa.

The new rotary kiln, with a 150,000 mt annual capacity, has increased VISA's entire DRI production capacity to 300,000 mt per year.
 
VISA commissioned its first kiln with a 150,000 mt annual capacity at the end of 2008. The Kalinganagar works currently produce 225,000 mt of pig iron, 400,000 mt of coke and 50,000 mt of ferrochrome per year.

VISA Steel, part of India's VISA group, is a multi-product company operating in the domain of metals and minerals. The company produces pig iron, low ash metallurgical coke, chrome concentrates, and ferrochrome.
