Vietnam’s steel imports in the first eight months of the current year totaled more than 9.29 million mt, declining by 10.6 percent, with a value of $6.72 billion, up 11.6 percent, both compared to the same period of the previous year, as announced by the country’s General Department of Customs.
Meanwhile, in August alone, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 1.24 million mt, rising by 5.1 percent from July and down by 12.4 percent year on year, while the value of these imports totaled $904.48 million, up 2.9 percent month on month and 13.7 percent year on year.
