US firms file AD and CVD duty petitions against steel wheels from China

On March 30, two US-based companies filed antidumping (AD) duty and countervailing duty (CVD) petitions on imports of steel wheels from China. The US Department of Commerce (US DOC) will initiate the relevant investigation on April 19.
 
Accuride Corp., Evansville, Indiana, and Hayes Lemmerz International Inc., Northville, Michigan are the two manufacturers in question, The subject products are listed in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United Stated under codes 8708700500, 8708702500, 8708704530, and 8708706030.
 
According to the data from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, in 2010 China exported $1.386 billion worth of steel wheels to the US.
