Turkish metals manufacture turnover up 4% in Feb over Jan

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in February this year increased by 17.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and was up by 3.8 percent over January this year.

In February, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 22.8 percent year on year and registered a four percent increase over the previous month, after a 12.2 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in January. Meanwhile, on year-on year basis the last decline in the index was recorded in January 2010.

Meanwhile, in February the monthly industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 5.3 percent over January and was up 22.1 percent year on year. On year-on-year basis the index has been trending up since January 2010. On the other hand, in February this year the industrial new orders index for fabricated metal products manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, recorded a fall of 16.8 percent month on month.
