Turkish metals manufacture turnover up 16.6 percent in Sept over Aug

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in September this year increased by 39.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and was up by 6.7 percent over August.
 
In September, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 67.3 percent year on year and registered an increase of 16.6 percent over the previous month. In August a month-on-month decrease of 6.8 percent had been seen after six consecutive months of increase. On year-on year basis, the last decline in the index was recorded in January 2010.
 
Meanwhile, in September, the monthly industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 11.7 percent from August and was up 50 percent year on year. On year-on-year basis, the index has been trending up since January 2010, while August saw a month-on-month decrease of seven percent after six straight months of increase.
