According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in July this year increased by 25.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and was up by 2.8 percent over June.
In July, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 47.6 percent year on year and registered an increase of two percent over the previous month. July is the sixth consecutive month in which the index has recorded a month-on-month increase. On year-on year basis, the last decline of the index was recorded in January 2010. In July the index increase of 47.6 percent in manufacture of basic metals was the highest increase recorded in the sub sectors of manufacturing industry.
Meanwhile, in July, the monthly industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 2.6 percent over June and was up 49.7 percent year on year. On year-on-year basis, the index has been trending up since January 2010, while July is the sixth consecutive month in which the index has recorded a month-on-month increase.
