Turkish metal manufacturing sector’s capacity usage falls in July

According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in July this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 78.2 percent, decreasing by 1.6 percentage points compared to July 2010 and down from 79.7 percent in June this year. This is the first month-on-month fall in the capacity utilization rate in four months.


Meanwhile, in July the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 2.6 percentage points year on year reaching 72 percent - down from 72.5 percent recorded in June this year.


Capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, came to 75.4 percent, down from 76.7 percent in June this year and up from 74.4 percent in July 2010.
