Turkish metals manufacture turnover down 2% in Oct from Sept

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in October this year increased by 34.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and was up by 5.8 percent over August.
 
In October, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 49.9 percent year on year and registered a decrease of two percent over the previous month. In September, a month-on-month increase of 16.6 percent had been seen, while on year-on year basis the last decline in the index was recorded in January 2010.
 
Meanwhile, in October, the monthly industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals decreased by one percent from September and was up 37.1 percent year on year. On year-on-year basis, the index has been trending up since January 2010, while September saw a month-on-month increase of 11.7 percent.
