Turkey’s metal output up 5.8 percent in May

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's monthly industrial production index increased by 5.9 percent year on year, while the seasonal and calendar adjusted industrial production index increased by 1.1 percent compared to the previous month. On the other hand, in Turkey the production index of the manufacturing industry in May increased 5.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In May, the production index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 5.8 percent year on year and was up 2.4 percent from April, while the output index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products rose by 10.3 percent year on year and was up by 2.6 percent compared to the previous month.
