In December last year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports totaled 55,309 metric tons, decreasing by 7.06 percent compared to the same month of 2013 and down 5.45 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $36.89 million, decreasing by 10.8 percent year on year and down 5.55 percent month on month.
Meanwhile, in 2014, Turkey's CRC imports increased by 1.66 percent to 718,115 metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $489.05 million, down 0.35 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In 2014, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 305,859 metric tons, down 3.76 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine surged to 137,214 metric tons, up 30.16 percent compared to 2013.
