Turkey's automotive sales down 19.25 percent Jan-Sept

In the January-September period of this year, sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 19.25 percent year on year to 473,498 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 18.92 percent to 366,768 units, while sales of commercial vehicles fell by 20.35 percent to 106,730 units, both on year-on-year basis.
 
Meanwhile, in September this year domestic sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles decreased by 2.11 percent year on year and increased by 10.52 percent month on month to 66,531 units. In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 6.92 percent year on year to 49,262 units and increased by 9.15 percent month on month, while sales of commercial vehicles rose by 14.84 percent year on year to 17,269 units and were up 14.61 percent month on month.
