Turkey's automotive sales up 49 percent in January-July

In July this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 40 percent year on year and were up by 39.3 percent month on month to 83,836 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 38 percent year on year and were down by 5.2 percent month on month to 64,218 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 47.4 percent year on year and were up by 6.6 percent month on month to 9,618 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-July period this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles increased by 49 percent year on year, amounting to 516,386 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 44 percent year on year to 392,064 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 67.12 percent to 124,312 units, both on year-on-year basis.
