Tata Steel sees improved crude steel output for September quarter

Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has announced its sales results for the second quarter ending September 30 of the Indian financial year 2012-13. The total domestic sales of Tata Steel for the second quarter amounted to 1.73 million mt, increasing by five percent compared to the same quarter of the previous financial year.

Tata Steel's crude steel output for the given quarter increased by 10.6 percent year on year to 1.92 million mt, while rising by six percent compared to the previous quarter. The company's liquid pig iron output in the quarter in question amounted to 2.07 million mt, up 6.3 percent year on year, also showing a slight increase quarter on quarter.
