Spain’s motor vehicle output down 1.4 percent in 2011

In 2011, Spain's total motor vehicle output amounted to 2,353,682 units, falling by 1.43 percent year on year, according to the data reported by the Spanish Automobile and Truck Manufacturers' Association (ANFAC).

In 2011, the passenger car segment recorded a decline of 4.92 percent year on year in output, totaling 1,819,453 units. In the industrial vehicle segment in 2011, a year-on-year increase of 11.34 percent was recorded in output, totaling 486,025 units. In December 2011, total motor vehicle production in Spain decreased by 51.4 percent month on month to 104,178 units, down 29.6 percent compared to the same month of 2010, while its passenger car output in December was 75,592, down 33.12 percent compared to December 2010.

In 2011, 90 percent of total Spanish motor vehicle production was exported, while motor vehicle exports rose by 1.96 percent year on year to 2,120,489 units. In the given year, Spain's passenger car exports recorded a decline of 0.95 percent year on year, totaling 1,642,578 units, while industrial vehicle exports saw a year-on-year increase of 11.75 percent, totaling 432,004 units.
