South African coal terminal sees improved exports in February

South Africa-based Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT), one of the world's largest coal handling ports, has announced that it exported 6.09 million mt of coal in February, up from 4.46 million mt in January.

Coal exports from the terminal in the first two months of the year amounted to 10.55 million mt, up 17.7 percent year on year. Stocks at the terminal stood at 2.82 million mt at the end of February.

RBCT was established with an original capacity of 12 million mt per year, but has now increased to 91 million mt per year.
