Russia issues January-October 2008 output results

According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal State Statistics Service, in the first ten months of 2008 the country registered a 6.7 percent rise in coal mining output and a 3.2 percent rise in iron ore mining output year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 270 million and 90 million.

In addition, during the same period Russia produced 28.7 million metric tons of coke - up 1.6 percent, 50.7 million metric tons of finished steel products - up 2.6 percent, and 6.9 million metric tons of steel pipes - down 6.2 percent, all compared to January-October 2007.
