According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal State Statistics Service, during the January-November 2006 period, the country registered a 3.4 percent rise in coal mining output and a 7.4 percent rise in
iron ore mining output year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 279 million and 93.2 million.
In addition, during the first eleven months of 2006
Russia produced 29.8 million metric tons of coke- up 2.9 percent, 53.1 million metric tons of finished steel products- up 6.9 percent and 7.2 million metric tons of steel pipes- up 17.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.
